perfect pitch

Are you a musically inclined person?  I would have to say I’m not, and to me the idea of acquiring perfect pitch seemed like something that was simply not something I’d ever have.  Perfect pitch, also called absolute pitch, is the ability to hear a note or chord and identify it.  It doesn’t sound all that hard until you actually give it a try.  Then you realize that you just don’t have that skill set anymore.  And I do mean anymore, you did used to have this skill when you were very young and still in your developmental stages.  However, in order to make things more efficient up in that brain of yours, its starts shutting down the ability to hear and identify certain sounds if it never needs to use them.
