I felt really stupid.

When I first hear the phrase “office action” I must admit I thought the guys was talking naughty about the ladies in our office. In fact I started to point out the possible sexual harassment recriminations he might face talking about that sort of thing. He informed me that I didn’t understand that “office action ” was the name of a rejection document from the US Patent office. I of course didn’t believe him until I went to look it up and sure enough that is exactly what it is. I had to go apologize to him for my misunderstanding. He just laughed about it.
