Families Welcome in Amish Country

Because of higher gas prices and trouble in the economy, my family decided to scale down its annual vacation plans. We definitely still wanted to go somewhere, but it wasn’t going to be as extravagant or long as it normally would be. And, that’s certainly fine because we’d still be spending time together. When investigating some places to go, we had to look at how close it was to home, what kinds of accommodations were available and what types of things we’d be able to do there. Because we live in Ohio, we decided that Holmes County and Amish country would be the places to go. Neither my husband nor kids had been there. We knew that there were great cottages that would suit our family. We could have fun, and learn some new things at the same time.
